Fiba Asia Cup 2014: Gilas Pilipinas wins Bronze against China by Paul Lee's Endgame Heroics

The Gilas Philippines team has failed to make it to the final after losing to Iran again, so they’ll face China in the third place match. Paul Lee turned defeat into victory as the Rain or Shine stalwart worked on a brilliant play in the dying seconds and, with three charities with no time left, lifted Gilas Pilipinas past China, 80-79, in a duel for third place in the fifth FIBA Asia Cup in Wuhan, China Saturday night. De Ocampo led Gilas with 18 points, while Tenorio chipped in 12. Naturalized center Marcus Douthit held the fort against China's taller frontline, grabbing 22 rebounds alongside 10 points. FIBA Asia Cup 2014: Gilas Pilipinas end their winning Streak to Iran

Gilas Pilipinas National Team end their winning Streak and suffered its first loss of the FIBA Asia Cup on Friday in the semifinals against familiar foe Iran, 76-55, in Wuhan, China. Hamed Haddadi of IRAN once again proved too big a hurdle to overcome for Gilas Pilipinas. Iran will face Chinese Taipei in the final after the Taiwanese defeated host China, 84-73, in the other semifinal. See the highlights between Iran against the Philippines.

Gilas Pilipinas tops Jordan to complete sweep of Group B

Congrats Gilas Pilipinas on winning against Jordan in 2014 FIBA Asia Cup! Philippines 3-0, sweeps Preliminary Round! The victory gave the Philippines the top seed in Group B after sweeping the preliminary round. Gilas earlier booked victories over Chinese Taipei and Singapore. Gilas Pilipinas defeats Jordan, 71-70. With the win, the Philippines moves into the knockout phase against India, the fourth seed in Group A. But Gilas could not afford to take the Indians lightly, because they own a victory over perennial Asian powerhouse China earlier in the competition. Ranidel de Ocampo with 14pts and 6rebs including a big 3-pointer to take the game, to lead the Filipinos to a third straight win in the tournament.

FIBA Asia Cup Updates: Gilas Pilipinas dominates Singapore

Gilas Pilipinas dominates Singapore for second win in row 74 -57. Gary David leads Gilas to easy victory over Singapore. The Filipinos will try to sweep their Group B assignment on Tuesday when they clash with Jordan, which is now mentored by former Gilas coach Rajko Toroman. The Philippines is now 2-0 in Group B.
