Much awaited Mayweather-Pacquiao fight could happen in May 2015

After a lot of controversy, the much-awaited fight between undefeated American boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Filipino boxing superstar Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao might finally happen in May 2015.
A source close to the father of Mayweather was quoted by a boxing writer that the undefeated American boxer is now willing to face Pacquiao  for the sake of the huge money their fight will generate.

The source, according to the article written by Ivan Goldman in Boxing Insider , said Mayweather is now pushing for a fight with Pacquiao  since he wants to earn a huge amount of money next year.
The source added that previously, Mayweather does not relish the idea of fighting Pacquiao,  but after much thought he finally decided to fight the Filpino.

Mayweather himself hinted a fight with Pacquiao next year when he recently announced his rematch with Argentinian boxing star Marcos Maidana on September 13 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. “Sept. 13, back to business, Marcos Maidana-Floyd Mayweather, part II. And then in May, I’m fighting in May and I’ll have a big surprise for y’all,” Mayweather reportedly said.

The source said the big fight pertains to his clash with Pacquiao  next year. Mayweather earlier beat Maidana in their first bout in April of this year. Meanwhile, Pacquiao is set  to climb in the boxing ring in November 22 against a yet to be named opponent in Macau, China.

A lot of boxing fans all over the world has long clamored for Mayweather and Pacquiao to fight each other in the boxing ring.

Recently, Pacquiao challenged Mayweather Jr. to fight him if the latter thinks he fights like an amateur boxer. Pacquiao dared Mayweather to put his money where his mouth is and fight him for the world to finally know who is the better boxer between them instead of criticizing and evading him. Pacquiao told the American boxer his communication line is always open 24/7 for him to call if he wants to face him inside the ring.

Mayweather earlier said that Pacquiao looked like an amateur when he fought against previously undefeated American boxer Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas last April. In previous reports, Mayweather said a fight with Pacquiao is not possible since he only fights boxers who adhere to the US Anti-Doping Agency drug-testing protocol.
