Who won the PBA expansion draft?

The thing about constructing a good team is, not only does it need talent, it also needs a good mixture of personalities and playing styles. The two newest PBA teams, expansion clubs Kia and Blackwater, needed to have that in mind, going into Friday’s Expansion Draft. With a wide range of players to choose from, it was up to the two new clubs to take into consideration approaches to the game, tendencies and whatnot, in order to hopefully unearth some diamonds in the rough from the bevy of shooters, floor generals and big men.

Two-time PBA MVP Danny Ildefonso was selected first by Blackwater. While it’s true that he is only a shadow of his former self, every PBA coach knows what a veteran like Ildefonso can bring to a team, and in this case, a very new team. In our mock draft, SLAM PH Online chose Alex Nuyles as the first choice, but luckily for Blackwater, they were able to nab a big name veteran in Ildefonso PLUS a guy like Nuyles. With the draft done behind closed doors, these are the two rosters that emerged:
