Throwback Thursday: 1996 Alaska Milkmen Grand Slam Season



1996 PBA Season - In their 11th season in the league, the Alaska Milkmen won all three conferences to become the third franchise in PBA history to capture the Grand Slam. The Alaska Milkmen won all three conferences in the season to become the fourth team in league history to capture the Grandslam, joining the 1976 and 1983 Crispa Redmanizers and the 1989 San Miguel Beermen. Johnny Abarrientos bag the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. Sean Chambers was voted the Governor's Cup Best Import. Edward Juinio was the season's Most Improved Player. Three players of Alaska; MVP winner Johnny Abarrientos, Rene Hawkins and Jojo Lastimosa made it to the Mythical first team selection.
